It's a safety device designed to detect and prevent the potential for ignition and over temperature by cutting power to heaters in the event of a pressure failure, low water detection, thermal limiting switch trips, or abnormal control signal failures.

This 24V 3Pole Plug In heat relay is color coded for easy identification and features a rugged thermostat with LED indicators providing clear, visible status from a distance.

Plug In Heat Relay is designed for protecting electrical circuits, such as those used with 3-way and 4-way valves for hydronic radiant floor heating systems. It monitors the circuit under normal circumstances and immediately shuts off power to the circuit if it detects a steep rise in temperature.

This plug-in heat relay is the ideal upgrade for your residential electric water heater. When used in conjunction with a 24 VAC, 0.8 amp solenoid valve, this relay will allow you to select various water temperatures at various times easily. The automatic timed cut off feature allows for point of use hot water without losing energy to standby losses or other non-water consumption uses. It can be easily installed in approximately 20 minutes even by beginners.
