The Relay SPDT by Amana is a switch that is used to control the start and stop of 230/115 volt AC equipment. It has three terminals -the interrupting contacts use screws to attach the wires to them.

The Relay SPDT is a digital timer that provides unique timing functions for your home. Ideal for controlling lights, pumps, fans and home appliances, the Relay allows you to create your own customized programmed cycles of on and off time. This 6-outlet timing device is protected by a water-resistant cover and features an easy to read display that shows the individual outlet status.

The relay SPDT has no internal moving parts to wear out or break, and provides high switching capacity. It is comparable to a mechanical relay, yet requires less mounting space. It is UL recognized and CSA compliant.

This 16 AMP SPDT relay has a strong metal frame and a spring-loaded pull switch for momentary, latch, or toggle action. It also has an ESD-safe briefcase package making it useful in many applications where sensitivity to electrostatic interference is important.

The relay shorts high voltage or current to ground. An electromagnet releases the armature from the holding magnet when a voltage is applied to coil energizing the relay. Once this happens the switch contacts are closed. The relay will remain energized until the current runs through the coil drops to zero, at which time it will be de-energized and the switch contacts open automatically.
