The FIROMATIC 1220 B-400-F, , 9120-400-0, 91204000 also restricts the flow of water to the sprinkler piping during normal operation.

The FIROMATIC B-400-F 1" Fusible is designed to shut off the flow of gases under potentially unsafe high-temperature conditions. The unit features thermostatically controlled vacuum relief and a fusible element, and may be installed as an inline or final shutoff device. The B-400-F is suitable for gas lines operating at pressures up to 5000 PSIG(3457 BARG).

In the event of an overpressure (boiling liquid expansion) or high water temperature (fire sprinkler release), the fusible plug melts, allowing the valve to open and permit a rapid discharge of any high-pressure liquid or steam. These valves are normally located in the safety relief/evacuation line connected to a steam generator, boiler, or primary heat source. The valves are rated for pressure up to 1150 psi @ 180°F.

The Firomatic F1220 Series Fusible Valves are designed by F.R.P. Products, Inc to be used in production and storage tank systems for the isolation, venting and/or purging of potential hazardous gas or vapor hazards to protect life or property in accordance with the NFPA Code 30 and 68 standards. The F1220 Series has been designed for use with flammable and combustible liquids at temperatures up to 400°F(204°C).

The FIROMATIC valve allows discharge of refrigerated air to atmosphere through a high temperature sensing element. The FIROMATIC valve incorporates a fusible link in lieu of a thermocouple or other sensing elements, which can be easily installed into the discharge duct for protection against overheating, backdrafting, surges, power outages and downstream obstructions.
