Our Carrier 08-3255-00 AUTO RESET LIMIT SWITCH is used on many units that use a Capacitor. Switches can be tested without removing them from the unit. Please refer to chart for cross reference.

The Auto Reset Limit Switch Kit is integrated into a variety of Carrier® models, and when used with a compatible heating and cooling system, helps to avoid inaccurate metering of gas usage. This kit contains a limit switch, and all required electrical connections and hardware. The device itself has a red reset button that engages once the system comes to normal pressure levels after a unit cycle. The main body of the limit switch is white or beige in color, and the included conduit bracket is painted black.

The Carrier 3255 has been replaced with the 08-3255-00 Auto Reset Limit Switch. The Auto Reset Limit Switch is a replacement timer switch for condensing units, packaged terminal air conditioners, and some packaged heat pumps. This compact and easy to install alarm switches on in response to high pressure and automatically resets when pressures drop back to safe levels. The Auto Reset Limit Switch has been designed to work with most Honeywell RTH230B1002 Programmable Thermostat.

INSTALLATION NOTE: Many applications use an in-line  auto reset thermal device  (thermistor, bimetal, or other),  that must be connected across both wires of the switch.  This type of connection can only be made on a switch when it is open and needs to be disconnected on a switch when it is closed.
