The Carrier 308589-401 condensate trap is a replacement kit that is meant for use with the TRU002JA, and the TRU004JA models. The condensate trap is used to remove condensate from the air conditioning system in order to keep excess moisture out of a home. When there is a problem with the trap, it has to be replaced in order for the AC system to work properly and efficiently.

The Condensate Trap includes an o-ring and screws. It was developed to prevent condensation from collecting on the defrost drain line which runs to the front of the refrigerator. The condensate enters the trap through tube, fills the bottom of the trap and drips into a bucket.
