MANUAL RESET AQUASTAT BREAKS ON RISE 100-200F SPEC

The Honeywell 5995A is a high limit, manual reset type of aquastat which controls the water temperature inside a hydronic heat or domestic hot water heating system. It features manual reset on rise as well as manual reset off fall when used with a 100-200 F temperature differential. It is always recommended that the aquastat be mounted vertically in line with the sensing element and control supply tubing to prevent damage to the internal seat mechanism.  This Honeywell product features an auto-reset on rise, manual reset on fall & spring turn- OFF mounting capability & a marine grade stainless steel (316L)

The Honeywell High Limit, Manual Reset Aquastat is a switching device that interrupts the heating circuit when the temperature rises above the high limit setpoint. It has an adjustable temperature shutoff of 100 to 200°F with factory set points of 125°F and 150°F.

The Honeywell 5995 is a manual reset aquastat with built-in high limit control designed for high limit protection on all your hydronic heating systems. It will shut off the heat when the water temperature rises above 205F. The 5995 is designed to protect heating equipment and prevent property damage due to overheating. It is the most popular and widely used manual reset aquastat in the industry, due to its proven reliability and dependability. The 5995 is also available in a factory wired plugged-in model, rated for 120/240v units with incandescent and electronic ballasts.

The Honeywell 5995 high limit, manual reset aquastat is primarily used to protect heating loads from freeze damage. The 5995 can interrupt power on a temperature rise or fall. This controller will operate from 25°F (-4°C) to 104°F (40°C).  These controllers are usually used in conjunction with frozenheat sensor control boards and must be located between the sensor control board and the frozenheat control assembly when used as a high-high controller.

This high limit controller can be used for larger water chillers with high quality ratings. The 100-200F manual reset device SPC (set point) thermal trip is "baked-in" to the design. This enables the controller to NOT get stuck in the "trip" position at a setpoint below 100F.

The High Limit, Manual Reset Aquastat Controller is used to limit the temperature in heating or cooling systems. The aquastat typically controls a gas valve and can also control a fan, power supply, or other auxiliary device. This is most often used in water heater applications. Within the control, a bimetal strip has limited expansion. This means it has memory and moves back toward its original position when heated/cooled. When this strip moves past a set point on either end of the movement range, the controller will send a signal to open or close a contact (turn on or off).

The Honeywell 5995 controls water flow to any heating or cooling system employing 100-200 F thermostats. The manual reset feature eliminates the need for an electrical bypass when high-limit or excess temperature conditions exist. The model H5995 operates in response to rise in temperature. As water temperature rises, the disc rises and closes the heat element contactor main power circuit, preventing additional heat from reaching the heating or cooling equipment. This provides maximum safety and control for heating systems designed to operate unattended when there is no direct supervisory control over some time period.
