The Johnson Controls Current Sensing Relay is an attractive, compact design with thermal disconnect rated at 110-125 VAC. It has solid state protection circuitry to protect the load circuit from electrical damage due to short circuits, overloads, and power surges. The device has a reset tab that allows for manual disable of the overload function allowing for field service or replacement without turning power off.

The R310AE2 Current Sensing Relay from Johnson Controls is a relay with current transformer being able to handle auxiliary control functions with all load combinations up to 240Vac. This range of relays allows for a variety of protection settings.

The R310AE2 Current Sensing Relay allows control of home heating and cooling equipment from a computer or other source. The device monitors current flow from the power source to the load and uses the current to automatically adjust the voltage supplied to a 3-1/8" terminal block. An internal printed circuit board generates a 24 VDC output over a ±10% range, making it suitable for driving both solid state and electromechanical relays.

A pilot lamp illuminates when a current flows from the pilot terminal to the pilot screw terminal of the Relay, indicating proper connection of pilot wire. In addition, different pilot voltages can be selected by setting pilot voltage selection jumpers on the PCB of the Relay. The pilot voltage of the Relay can be set from 0-30V of AC or DC including sign.
