Flame Sensor

The Flame Sensor is a flame sensor that can be easily and safely installed at any outdoor location where flame detection is needed.

This product is a Flame Sensor. It is light sensitive and senses the change in infrared waves or infrared radiation (IR) caused by the flame. When a flame is sensed, it generates an alarm output.

Unique to Lennox, the Flame Sensor adds convenience and peace of mind to any heating appliance. The sensor allows you to see if your pilot light is lit and if the burner is on, right from your smartphone.

The Flame Sensor allows combustion air to travel from rooms containing furniture and/or furnishings to the furnace without the flame actually being visible. This reduces the chance that people or pets, and even accidents such as a candle or young child playing with matches, will accidentally ignite furniture.

The Flame Sensor, Model 18G89 for select Lennox 90% furnaces is used to sense pilot flames and shut down the furnace if a flame is not detected. It fits the following models:

The Lennox Flame Sensor is a T6 sensor with a 6-inch lead that you connect to your gas valve assembly to monitor for dangerous flame impingement. The thermal flame sensor is encased in a steel, NEMA 4X enclosure and fabricated from 316 stainless steel. Its 6-inch lead can be extended from 12-18 inches.

Lennox Flame Sensors continually monitor your system for the presence of flame, and shut off your gas if it isn't detected. Flame Sensors have no moving parts that wear out, keeping your HVAC system operating at peak efficiency and helping to protect your investment in energy costs.
