The Flame Sensor™ constantly monitors gas levels and flame size to maintain the best possible efficiency and innovative iBoost technology that maximizes the heating potential of the furnace for power boost at the flick of a switch.

The 79J22 Flame Sensor incorporates infrared sensing technology that enables it to sense the temperature of the flame and shut off the flow of natural gas when flame is absent. It mounts easily to a wall or baseboard.

The Flame Sensor controls gas valve operation to maintain the pilot flame. If the pilot flame goes out, the solenoid valve will not allow gas to flow to the burner assembly. For use with any Lennox natural gas furnace or boiler (including modulating) connected directly to the gas supply.

The flame sensor is a safety device that is usually placed in the ductwork and burner piping.

The Lennox 79J22 Flame Sensor is a replacement for existing pilot assembly. Replacing the pilot assembly can help reduce unwanted burning and flickering of gas fireplace flames.
