HI PRESSURE SWITCH

Through the unique operation and manifold design, the HI PRESSURE SWITCH operates as a combination over-pressure/high temperature switch. It is designed to interrupt power supply to both heating elements, if either pressure or temperature in the mid-pressure manifold exceeds the limit values set by manufacturer.

The Lennox HI Pressure Switch is used to turn off the burner or pilot when a high-pressure condition occurs. This high pressure switch fits all standard domestic air handlers and heat pumps that use a single-stage gas valve. It has a dual union outlet with ¼'' male NPT connection allowing for maximum compatibility with the most common propane applications. The hi pressure switch also features an OPD port on top of the device where OEM specified low pressure wires can be attached.

A Hi-Pressure Switch is a component in the line set which turns on and off the power to the compressor motor, when a high-pressure condition occurs. This switch is used as a safety device to protect the compressor from damage. The switch also protects the indoor coil from freezing by turning on the compressor periodically to circulate refrigerant through the coils and heat exchanger.

The Lennox HI Pressure Switch monitors your furnace's blower pressure switch, and turns off the electric ignition if the pressure falls below a set level. This is not an inherently dangerous situation, but it is a possible cause of excessive heat buildup in your furnace that may eventually lead to damage. If your furnace or air conditioner has had temperature-related problems, run the risk of carbon monoxide buildup or other dangerous conditions, or are more than five years old, this part is recommended.

When cooking on a range, the high pressure switch is very important. It prevents much more than broken glass! The hi pressure switch monitors the heat of the oven. When the gas is in use, the hi pressure switch will be engaged and will turn off the burner if it senses excessive heat.
