CAPACITOR REPLACES M76039

This capacitor is a replacement for part numbers M76039, M76040, M76041, and M76042. This capacitor has also been used on units built as late as January of 1998.

The M76040 capacitor from Bell & Gossett is designed to replace the damaged 98671 Xylem M76039 capacitor. It provides a capacitance of 10 mfd, is capable of handling up to 240 Volts and has a round design.

The M76030 and 76039 chokes are glass-to-air filters designed for use on a wide variety of gas discharge, high-voltage, high frequency power transformers. They are effective in reducing the noise level generated by arcing within a transformer while passing normal audio frequencies undistorted. Both filters consist of an interference suppressor screen cage, a series of 20-mesh wire wound strainer and inductance coils. The strainer is stainless steel or cold rolled steel with copper windings, to provide long life and superior shielding protection from RF Interference.

Lightweight and highly flexible, the Xylem M76040 replaces the conventional commutator. It comprises an alumina ceramic cylinder which acts as a solid dielectric, sealed in a groove machined into an aluminum end cap.
