This DEFROST SENSOR has a temperature sensor and a deicing control sensor. It monitors the temperature in the freezer compartment and turns off the fan when it gets too cold to prevent frost buildup.

This is a relay sensor for the defrost mode on Nordyne furnaces. This sensor will fit many Nordyne furnaces including but not limited to: 31ES, 41ES, 43ES, and 46ES.

Protect your home’s heat pump system from expensive damage caused by frost. This economical and easy-to-install Nordyne frost sensor senses a temperature drop indicating the presence of frost in the outdoor coil. Once activated, the sensor triggers an electric solenoid valve to open, allowing hot refrigerant to flow through a line to defrost the coil. The sensor will defrost up to 20 feet of 1/4 inch copper tubing with 1/4" fittings attached.
