ULTRAVIOLET RECTIFICATION AMPLIFIER
Honeywell's UV circuit design is the most versatile of all the Flame Amplifiers and it should be used whenever ultra violet rectifying quality is a factor. This technology requires that the primary and secondary current waveforms be equal in shape, but 90° out of phase. Honeywell has developed an amplifier which utilizes the thyristor gating technique to generate these waveforms with almost perfect symmetry. This amplifier can be used on such diverse applications as mercury vapor, metal halide and high pressure sodium lamps operated in air or mercury vapor lamps operated in a mixture of air and mercury vapors.

The Honeywell FLAME AMPLIFIER is designed for use in the Honeywell 5826 and 5890 Series. They provide rectification of the input signal to compensate for spectral mismatch of the power source and instrument resulting from secondary emission from triode, tube or lamp emission.
The Flame Amplifier, 35288 (Black Glass) will amplify UV radiation by 1.7 times. This amplifier is not a filter, it works on lamp brightness only.
For UV lamps operating in concentration or propagation mode, a single controller may be used for up to a total of six lamps. It is possible to chain multiple controllers (up to six) in series to control additional arrayed UV lamps or boost a single lamp with up to 10 individual wave guides. Output power from the amplifier is presented as a single point-of-load based upon the lowest lamp wattage selection, while input power is presented as 6 watts per channel.
