This RHEEM 42-18287-12 -Ruud 24V 12A DPDT Relay is a 24VAC/DC, 12A SPDT General Purpose Relay. The relay configuration is SPST-NO (single pole single throw-normally open). The metal enclosure, sealed against moisture and dust, is suitable for use in harsh environments.

The Relay-able DPDT relay switches two separate AC loads up to 18.5A while maintaining a 30VDC voltage drop. This relay is rated for 12A DC continuous load at 250VAC, 30VDC voltage drop and 32mA holding current and meets or exceeds industry standards and UL certifications.

A Bussman-Style DPDT relay is used to switch a 120/240 Vac 30 Amp appliance (for example, a window air conditioning unit). The common terminal and coil terminal are wired in series with the control-side connection that is normally supplied by the thermostat. The common terminal and coil terminal are wired in parallel with the set-point side connection of the thermostat. A positive voltage is applied to one set of contacts; otherwise, they are normally open contacts.
