No need to pick and choose with one device, this switch can control the three zones of your home's HVAC system. With a classic white finish, this pressure switch will match the rest of your home decor."
Pressure switch is used on Rheem gas heaters. It monitors the pressure within a storage cylinder and regulates engine speed and heating operation of the unit.
RHEEM pressure switches are designed to function in gas-fired boilers that have a 1 ? 2 in BSPT male flare fitting. It has a maximum pressure rating of 300 PSI, and includes a manual reset breaker to protect against overpressure. The pressure switch has an increased range from 10 PSIG to 50 PSIG as compared to the 0-20 PSIG range of the original design. All models are rated for continuous duty operation."
The Pressure Switch is called a switch because that's what it does. Its primary purpose is to sense excess pressure within the heat pump system and send a signal to the compressor telling it to turn off. You don't want your compressor running at excessive pressures because this will cause your equipment to overheat.
A pressure switch is an electrical switch that opens and closes in response to the pressure from a fluid, most commonly a liquid. The switch may be either manual or automatic, and it continuously opens and closes in response to the pressure of the fluid along its containing tube--that is, it lacks individual "on" and "off" positions.
