The Ruud 7/8"x3/8" Charge Compensator is made to help maintain a proper charge on the system. By using the charge compensator in place of a bleeder assembly, proper pressure is maintained within the system and it makes for easier servicing at your convenience with no mess. It contains a built-in regulator, to compensate for expansion and contraction of refrigerant as temperature changes.

Charge compensators are used with central air conditioning and heat pumps systems to provide cool, comfortable indoor climates in residential and commercial buildings, without excessive electric controls. The following features are designed into the 7/8x3/4 inch charge compensator: a maximum of six (6) lbm/ton of charge capacity for a wide range of cooling conditions; optimum pressure ratio characteristics; thermal overload protection; easy wiring through convenient terminal block locations.
