The Expansion Valve Kit (TXV) by Rheem performs the same function as a conventional expansion tank and relief valve. It is installed inline on the discharge of an air conditioning coil to adjust the discharge air temperature and pressure on the coil during discharge conditions. It helps maintain more stable conditions within the system.

The Rheem Expansion Valve Kit (TXV) is for use with Ruud residential heating systems, including gas-fired water heaters, furnaces, boilers, and baseboard heaters. The expansion valve is manufactured by the Ruud factory, is built to withstand high temperatures, and is validated to reduce energy consumption in these systems.

Specifically designed by the Rheem® subsidiary of Lennox® to meet original equipment specifications, this valve kit maximizes efficiency. It is compatible with Lennox® Ruud® heat pump systems with TXV/XB or high efficiency two-stage receivers. Filter pack sold separately.

This expansion valve kit is for Ruud multi-stage, two-stage and multi-split gas furnaces and heat pumps that use a single outdoor section and multi-speed compressors (SoundGuard 5002045, 5004045).

Remove and replace the expansion valve on your Rheem water heater with this expansion valve kit. Made of durable brass and copper, the expansion valve has a 3/4" quick connect inlet and outlet and is designed to prevent gas leaks. The 1/4" NPT thermocouple threads into the thermocouple port on the top of the expansion valve.

Expansion valves allow the outdoor portion of a split system air conditioner to respond more quickly and precisely than with a fixed orifice. An adjustable valve moves in response to changing outside temperatures and pressures. This product is designed for use with Rheem Ruud Outdoor Air Conditioning Units, including RNG-0716A, RDN-0816A, RCB-0816A, RMF-0920A, RMF-0925SC, RMF-1130SC.

Expansion Valves ensure proper matching and sizing of the outdoor unit and indoor lines. Expansion Valves, by their nature, offer the best protection against dirt and water back-flow. Remember: If even one gallon of water or thread condensate gets into your air conditioner's evaporator coils, it will freeze and could cause major damage.

This expansion valve captures high density refrigerant to cool your home efficiently. This part is frequently used in air conditioning systems by Ruud as well as other manufacturers.

Flow through the air handler is controlled by the condensing coil. When ambient temperature drops, indoor gas consumption can increase dramatically. When this happens, the expansion valve of the converter must react more quickly or shut off to prevent too much refrigerant from entering the suction side of the compressor. The pressure of gage on evaporator outlet is very low, indicating that there is no problem with the operation of the unit.
