The Ruud High Pressure Limit-Auto Reset (HPLAR) TXV system is designed for use with Rheem-Ruud brand high efficiency boilers. The TXV contains a spring loaded check valve, preset to the heating temperature of your home; a pressure switch; and a high pressure mechanism. When you turn on hot water, cold water circulates through the TXV from the tank to the heater. As the hot water mixes with this cold water in the tank, it reduces the tank temperature. This product features an auto-reset high pressure limit control which protects the valve from being damaged. The auto-reset feature is able to reset automatically when excess pressure does not exceed the set pressure.

The RHEEM/RUUD High Pressure Limit-Auto Reset features a heavy duty thermal magnetic high-limit switch with a digital auto reset. When the pressure switch senses that the specified high pressure limit has been exceeded, the unit will shut down. Within seconds, the unit will turn back on automatically to prevent further damage and restart when the change in temperature of the refrigerant goes below the setpoint. This allows you to interrupt the unit without wasting energy or loads by manually resetting it after a thermal overload has occurred.

These high pressure limit switches offer an adjustable set point for a precise control of water temperature. The automatic reset feature eliminates manual reset access and/or unnecessary call-backs for minor temperature fluctuations.
