The M490DE Delayed Egress Electromagnet Lock is designed for applications where the door or gate is normally locked and unlocked by a turn knob or lever inside the space. The Electronic lock is powered by 120-240VAC and confined to a small box with two status lights and two buttons.

Schlage's M490DE is an electronic locking, lockdown latch that can be used on single, double, and recessed doors. The Schalge M490DE Double Delay Egress is a commercial-grade lock option for emergency-related applications. Its delayed egress capability increases fire safety while allowing for a slow egress of occupants in the event of evacuations.

Designed for applications including correctional facilities, hospitals and health care facilities, casinos and private residences where the M490D single mag lock is used to secure the latch bolt in a withdrawn position. It is not designed for the simultaneous control of two or more independent door sections.

SCHLAGE's M490DE Mag Lock is a completely self-contained, electromagnetic lock designed to answer the demands of industrial and institutional applications. Its internal amplifiers and power supply allow the springless double-acting magnet to handle up to 1,500-lbf. - ideal for doors weighing more than 100 lbs. The M490DE utilizes "Ready-Select" programming that allows for three distinct operational modes: normal, standby, or temporary open.

The Schlage M490DE includes two AA batteries, two travel sentries (to verify identity of the user) and all installation hardware. It's great for electronic deadbolt installations where the door lever is used as a normal door knocker, due to its recessed faceplate. The M490DE also has two additional features that ensure increased security in high-traffic environments: A delayed egress of up to 1 minute of entry delay from the outside and a maximum-security holding force of 1,500 lb. per electromagnet.
