This sensor works perfectly with most Rheem outdoor gas furnaces. It monitors furnace start up, operation, and shutdown. Any of these operations can cause the pilot light to go out or the burner to trip off. The combination of the signal from the Pilot/Ignition Sensor and the Rheem remote control thermostat is what allows your furnace ignition system to sense when to fire up.

From the Manufacturer The Rheem SP12049E Pilot/Ignition Sensor is a replacement sensor that fits into the SP12048E and SP12092E Valves. This pilot/ignition sensor measures 1.75 inches tall, and 1 inch in diameter and has a gold connection screw (3/8-18). Power to the sensor wire is 115VAC. The total output voltage of the sensor should be 6-12V and draw approximately 3mA of current at 6V and 150mA at 12V.

The RHEEM Pilot/Ignition Sensor monitors and controls the range/stove pilot flame. If there is any interruption in the pilot flame, the sensor will stop the furnace from running until the problem is corrected.

This Rheem accessory is a direct replacement for an existing module. This part makes an ideal backup pilot/ignition sensor.
