The PLUG-IN MERCURY FLAME SENSOR 48" is a self-adjusting solid state device which provides an auxiliary (parallel) low level pilot signal to control Mercury Vapor, HCCI, and natural gas appliances. The unit is UL listed for 1/2 inch NPT and 3/4 inch NPT pipe threads. It is manufactured with flameproof insulation.

The Plug-In Mercury Flame Sensor 48" is used with the White-Rodgers thermostats. It is a mechanical sensor that uses an internal mercury column in conjunction with heating element to detect the flame in gas appliances. This model includes 4? pigtail wire, mounting hardware and instructions for quick and easy installation.

The 5054 plug-in Mercury Flame Sensor 48" will upgrade your system and allow for installation of a more reliable touch-free appliance control. The sensor is easy to mount and wire (only 2 wires to connect) and with the length of the wires you will only need to drill one hole in your wall. Batteries are needed if going battery powered, or if you want remote sensor control, 2-wire shielded cable is required.

The 48" Plug-In Mercury Flame Sensor will shut off the flow of gas to the appliance when the flame is extinguished, reducing wasted fuel. It also features a pilot burner, which will continue to burn when the main flame is extinguished, allowing time for the pilot light on some appliances to relight and re-ignite the main burner. The large wires on this sensor let it handle higher ampacity than standard size sensors.

The Plug-In Mercury Flame Sensor is a mercury-type flame detection device connected to a wall receptacle. The sensor houses a capsule filled with mercury that moves up and down in response to the intensity of the heat source placed within its flame sensing zone. A circuit board, located inside the sensor, produces an electrical output signal that is proportional to the position of the mercury within the sensing zone. This signal relays information regarding its flame sensing zone status to a terminal block connector on the sensor's base.

This mercury flame sensor is designed to sense flame changes in the primary circuit of a gas-fired furnace.
