Enthalpy Sensor

The air coming into your home is important — and it's something you should monitor. The Enthalpy Sensor does just that by measuring the energy content of that airflow, which will give you an idea of how much excess water vapor — and therefore humidity — is in the air being brought into your home. This moisture can cause damage to both your indoor environment and your heating/cooling system.

Designed and manufactured to Lennox's high industry standards, the Enthalpy sensor is easy to install and program.

The Enthalpy Sensor measures the enthalpy of air in forced-air heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. It is used for determining the degree of flow correction required in mixing or blending the supply and return air to compensate cooling loads when there is no temperature sensing capability or equipment, such as a damper box on the supply air or return air trunk line. The sensor provides input only to mixing control systems.

This Enthalpy sensor is used with the Lennox 54G44 furnace, to monitor the safe return of conditioned air into the air circulation system.

The Entropy Controller provides a precise set-point through a resistance change in a metal coating surrounding the sensor. The point at which the controller deflects is calibrated so that, using the controller alone, it can be directly proportional to temperature.

Systems employing enthalpy probes allow the heater to measure the amount of heat flowing into the air instead of temperature. The resulting increase in accuracy and efficiency means a more comfortable room, reduced energy costs, and lower emissions. Enthalpy probes are ideally suited for mountable or pull-through applications.

The LENNOX 54G44 Enthaliquid Propane Return Air Sensor is designed for residential and light commercial applications. This sensor is fully compatible with both Lennox and non-Lennox systems and will not void the warranty on your system.
