No flame - no pilot. With the RHEEM Flame Sensor, if you don't have a flame, you don't have heat.

This Flame Sensor by Rheem for use in any Rheem high efficiency gas furnace with a 240 volt control is designed to protect the equipment and the consumer from operating a gas furnace without adequate combustion air.

The Flame-Sensor is an accessory that installs directly in the gas hose or natural gas pipe to provide flame detection. For added safety and convenience, a light on the control panel will illuminate (if a flame is present) when the oven burner is turned on.

RHEEM Flame Sensors provide an extra line of defense against gas appliance failure by monitoring operation and output. With multiple flame detection zones, they can monitor large open burners, small domestic burners, or the radiant burner assembly of a heater. Each sensor's audible alarm ensures swift response to a detected problem.

The RHEEM 62-23543-02 Flame Sensor is the replacement flame sensor for RHEEM furnaces.

The flame sensor is part of the control module assembly. The flame sensor detects the flame in the burner chamber, and turns the ignition off when it is no longer sensed.
