The Carrier gas condensing furnaces with Flame Sensor feature provide four levels of protection against flame presence and combustion products, including both sensor and electrical trip.

The Carrier® Flame Sensor fits between the two heating units. It monitors flame presence in each heating unit. If the sensor detects a flame failure or a loss of power, it will disable the thermostat on that side of the furnace, preventing obstruction of air flow in and out of the furnace.
